Field Trip to Ralph Carr Judicial Center

On October 3, our good friend Fred Schultz, Development Manager for Trammel Crow, toured Studio K2 through the Ralph Carr Judicial Center.  We wanted to share you with you some of the pictures and our experience.  We started by suiting up in our PPE, coffee in hand and walked around to the north side of the building to start at the main entrance to the courts building.

Our first question – why the curve?

The row of columns creates an extension of the curved path up the hill to the Capital.  The dome is also open to the northeast to create a visual connection the inside the atrium.

We had the opportunity to visit the court rooms, check out some of the art installations and visit one of the balconies in the office tower that offers one of the most unique views of Civic Center Park across to downtown.

Our favorite parts – seeing concentric rings of metal studs, the egress stair and art work and the rugs into the offices.

Thank you Fred!
